Radiesse **
The unique composition of Radiesse provides immediate visual improvement common with other fillers, along with the benefit of long-lasting results. This is because Radiesse is made of very tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. The microspheres (particles) form a scaffold through which your body's own collagen grows, and this produces the desired long-term effect. These unique advantages make Radiesse the ideal choice for facial shaping and contouring. I consider Radiesse to be gourmet filler. It has the texture and moldability that really make it a sculpting material, not just a filler, and it allows me to produce epicurean results. I can layer the material in different planes, creating a scaffold of microspheres of biocompatible material. New collagen grows around and over these microspheres in a three-dimensional volume enhancement that is more natural and longer lasting than with the hyaluronic acid fillers. I also prefer to use Radiesse because of its versatility. Radiesse is ideal for correcting volume loss and for total volume restoration like on the hands but also for a detail work like nasolabial folds or under eyes. Whether you are longing to reverse the common signs of aging or address a health issue that otherwise would require an invasive treatment, you have more options in looking and feeling better with Radiesse. The average duration of the Radiesse procedure with me runs 15 minutes to 40 minutes per session with dental blocks or local anesthesia. An initial period of swelling is expected and can last a few days. Some patients experience a small amount of bruising in the injected areas. With a treatment like Radiesse, you no longer have to put up with signs of premature aging. Lines, creases, and wrinkles can be smoothed out, creating a younger and more vibrant looking you. ![]() ** Dr. Steve Zakany is a member of Radiesse® Physician's Network certified by Radiesse® manufacturer BioForm Medical, Inc. |
